Meet Vince!

Each year, The Lost Poets LLC donates hundreds of books to schools, nonprofits, and reform centers, striving to inspire other writers through our initiatives. I’m Vincent J Osborne III, an author and artist from California. Growing up in Long Beach, California, in a family of nine children, I was the fifth in line. My passion for writing began at age seven, and I attended Polytechnic High School in Long Beach.

I was particularly drawn to poetry and novels that explored economic and social disparities, such as "The Giver," which honed my writing skills through its detailed narrative. I once won a talent contest with my poem "Generation X," and subsequently decided to be home-schooled to focus on my academics, steering away from the spotlight that football and band brought at my school.

After community college, I published my first book, "The Lost Poets: Suicide Notes," in 2019. This book was organized online through Instagram with four other authors from the West Coast, leading to the creation of The Lost Poets. Our project was a success, and we promoted our work through live poetry readings on YouTube, which can be found under the videos tab.

My next book, "The Lost Poets: Black in 2019," was published in 2020. This special collection features perspectives from African American and African authors on the experience of being young and black in the modern age. My love for writing grows daily, and I currently reside in Portland, Oregon, where I’ve lived for the past ten years. The community here is incredible. Please support my books and enjoy the heartfelt poetry we create.
